THE STREAM

The stream pictured above has significance to us from several different perspectives.  The name "Bergstrom" means "mountain stream" in Swedish. This berg ström reminds us of our obligation to be wise & gracious stewards of our family wealth and heritage.  We also see it as a symbol of our larger obligation to be good stewards of this beautiful corner of God's creation.  The area we call the Pacific Northwest.

Good stewardship calls for thoughtful planning and wise decisions.  Like the pictured stream, a good plan should flow gracefully through our lives.   This stream does not flow through a land that is dry & barren.  It's banks are not overgrown with tangled underbrush. The water does not glide slow and muddy like a valley slough.  Nor is it a cacophony of tumbling water that drowns out the quiet wisdom in the back of our mind.   This ström is just right.  The soothing sound of rushing waters down a gentle mountain valley.  A harmonious array of contrasting colors in a natural forest park.  The filtered sunlight adding splashes of highlights to God's handiwork.  Our wish for you is that all of your plans will be like this stream.  A perfect blend of detail and openness.  A source of quiet contentment and optimism for the future.

The picture was taken at Troublesome Creek, in the Monte Cristo region of the North Cascades.  This is a place we often go to renew our mind and spirit.  The rushing water gently washes away the cobwebs of urban living.  It  is a place for reading, writing, and thinking creatively.  Some of our best ideas have appeared here.
